McQueen was an artist of High Fashion, plain and simple. The world lost a thousand fine works that day in february of 2010.
By the way, condescending young people take note - It is High Fashion, or Haute Coutour, as it is more commonly known, that requires skinny models for it’s collections. Said models don’t even have to be anorexic, just skinny, as it makes them into an easier canvas. The dresses are not daily wear clothing, and thus do not need to fit more common body types. That’s left to ready to wear labels.
